From pseudo-co-workers to roommates to something more, Jo and Rohan will have a tough time weaving the stars of their romance with danger lurking in the background.

I’ve been involved in Voice Out for years, first as someone looking for a place to call home, and then as someone who helped others like me. In all that time, there has been one constant in my life. One man who has made me feel safe even though he probably doesn’t even know my last name: Rohan Saxena, or as she was known on the stage of Zimmer, Rowena Sequins.

When my homophobic stepbrothers started stalking me, Mama D insisted on moving me somewhere safer. What I didn’t expect was to end up living with Rohan. I was scared of my stepbrothers, but I was also scared of what I might do if I was around Rohan twenty-four-seven.

Being Rowena Sequins is a part of me, and I fought hard to claim it, and lost a lot in the process. It was why I now volunteered at Voice Out as much as I could, because I wanted the kids there to have what I never did: unconditional love and support.

Jo is special, though I wish they weren’t. When they first came to Voice Out, they were a kid too. But now they’re all grown up, gorgeous, and in danger. When Delilah asked me to give my spare room to Jo, I couldn’t say no. But Jo is pure temptation, and they’re too young and free to want to be with someone like me. Nevertheless, I’d do everything in my power to keep them safe, because above all, a safe space was what they needed most.
